Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how WEN YUN NIU (“we,” “us,” or “our”), the provider of the ItsRecord iOS application (“ItsRecord” or the “App”), handles information when you use the App and the ItsRecord website.

ItsRecord is designed as a privacy-focused, local-first application. The App does not require a user account, and your receipts, expense records, inventory records, and related data are not uploaded to or stored on an ItsRecord server.

1. Information Processed by the App

ItsRecord allows you to create, import, scan, organize, and manage information such as receipt images and receipt details; purchased items and inventory records; Expenses-Only records; item tracking and transaction history; and notes, categories, quantities, prices, dates, and other information you choose to enter.

This information is processed by the App for the features you choose to use. We do not collect or receive this information on an ItsRecord server.

ItsRecord does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or other identifying information in order to use the App.

2. On-Device OCR

ItsRecord uses Apple’s Vision framework to perform optical character recognition (OCR). OCR processing is performed locally on your device. Receipt images and OCR results are not sent to an ItsRecord server for OCR processing. ItsRecord does not use a third-party OCR service or third-party OCR SDK.

3. Local Data Storage

By default, ItsRecord stores your App data locally in the App’s private storage on your iPhone. Your locally stored data remains on your device unless you delete individual records, delete App data through available App functions, or delete the App.

Deleting ItsRecord from your iPhone removes data stored in the App’s private local storage. If the information is important to you, you should maintain a current backup before deleting the App or replacing your device.

4. Optional Backups

Backup is optional and is not enabled until you select a supported cloud-backed storage location through Apple’s Files interface. Depending on the services available through the Files app on your device, supported locations may include iCloud Drive or compatible third-party cloud storage providers.

After you select a supported backup location, ItsRecord can create backups automatically according to the backup schedule you choose. You may also create a backup manually at any time.

ItsRecord does not use CloudKit or iCloud Sync. Backup files are written to the storage location you select. We do not receive or store copies of those backup files on an ItsRecord server.

5. Third-Party Storage Providers

If you choose a third-party storage provider through Apple’s Files interface, that service is operated independently from ItsRecord. Your use of that storage provider is subject to the provider’s own terms, privacy policy, availability, and security practices.

ItsRecord does not control the operation, availability, retention policies, or security of third-party storage services.

6. Device Permissions and System Services

ItsRecord may request access to device features or content only when needed for a function you choose to use. This may include the camera to capture receipts or other records, Photos when you choose to import an image, and Files when you choose files or a backup location through Apple’s system interfaces.

If you enable Face ID protection for ItsRecord, the App uses Apple’s system authentication services to verify access to the App. ItsRecord does not receive, store, or have access to your Face ID biometric data. Biometric authentication is handled by iOS.

You can manage applicable permissions and authentication settings through iOS Settings and the App’s available settings.

7. Analytics, Advertising, and Third-Party SDKs

ItsRecord does not include third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, third-party crash-reporting SDKs, or third-party OCR SDKs. ItsRecord does not use your App records for advertising or behavioural profiling.

8. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your receipts, inventory records, expense records, OCR results, or other locally stored App records with advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers.

If you choose to store a backup using a cloud storage provider available through Apple’s Files interface, the backup is transferred to the location you selected as part of the function you requested.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Locally stored App data remains on your iPhone until you delete the applicable records or delete the App. Backup files remain in the storage location you selected until you delete them or they are otherwise removed according to the policies or operation of the applicable storage provider.

Because ItsRecord does not require an account and we do not operate a server containing your ItsRecord records, there is normally no server-side ItsRecord account or App-record database for us to delete on your behalf.

10. Children’s Privacy

ItsRecord is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through an ItsRecord account or server.

11. Security

ItsRecord relies on the security protections provided by iOS and the storage services you choose to use. If you enable Face ID protection, access authentication is performed by iOS; ItsRecord does not receive or store your biometric data.

No device, software, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and any storage accounts you use for backups.

12. Support Communications

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message, including any attachments you choose to send. We use this information only to respond to and provide support for your request.

Please do not send sensitive personal, financial, medical, or other confidential information unless it is necessary for us to assist you. You are responsible for deciding what information to include in a support request.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the revised Privacy Policy will be posted on the ItsRecord website and the “Last updated” date will be changed.

Where appropriate, material changes may also be communicated through the App or its App Store listing. Because ItsRecord does not require user registration, we do not maintain an email list of all App users for the purpose of sending privacy-policy notices.
